They All Played A Part: Squanto

I believe that Squanto played one of the biggest helps to the Pilgrims. Squanto helped them plant and figure out what types of foods were good for them to eat. Squanto also returned all of their supplies that the Indians had stolen from them. I feel as if he didn't do that, then the Pilgrims would be shorthanded on things with tools and could possibly not make things. Also he helped suppress their fear of the Indians by helping make a treaty with them. This treaty was very crucial in letting the Pilgrims be able to expand because they could have feared the Indians and that they would attack back. Squanto helped them find food and return tools and help squander their fears of the Indians being a big beneficiary to the Pilgrims.

Journals of Discovery

This picture is a true representation of how the Jamestown feared all of the Indians. They blocked them off from entering into their village. They did this because they feared that the Indians would slowly kill them all off and take everything they own. They also needed to feel a possible sense of protection from other forces as in the Spanish. So all in all this is an accurate representation of how Jamestown was and how they had to seclude themselves for protection.
