One thing that really interested me was that our country did not have a secret agency all the time. This whole time I figured there was someone doing intelligence research for our country all the time to keep it safe but I was mistaken. It is interesting how safe we have been back then though, weather that be related to the technology being low back then or just the presence we presented to the world.
It was as well interesting to know that there is a book that holds almost everything you would need to know about a nation. It must take so much time for them to collect all the information. With just simply one book we can find out all the information about a nation that we need.

Romantic Poem Reflection: Old Ironsides
I enjoyed Old Ironsides because it military esque and I enjoy military. I especially enjoy it since my brother is a Marine. It as well has a great meaning to it and short and too the point. It might be one of my favorite poems now to be honest. I also love the under lying meaning to the story.

Connection to Nature
As I looked outside tonight I saw the mixture of the rain and snow. I got to thinking what it would be like to be part of that, being so delicate but meaning so much to either the time of year or to the havoc it could cause. If there's too much of it, it can cancel schools or shut down so much and create so much trouble. With it being so delicate, almost comforting, we would think it could only make things better and bring cheer to the Christmas time but it can create misfortune just like many other things. It's just interesting to see how something that looks to be so small and little can become an obstacle for us.
What were you thinking Edgar?
I could hear voices approaching, even music, like the sound of triumph but I could feel the heat increasing. It became so hot I could no longer hold on to anything for there was also no way of having a grip onto this wall. I started to slip down the pit and as I was falling I heard the doors opening and I felt despair knowing I could have been saved. Falling down this pit I try to grab a hold to the sides, trying to get a grip on maybe a root, anything! Even after a few seconds I lost all energy and felt my hand bleeding from tearing at the wall. As I looked down I started to see a glimpse of what I perceived to be light, coming from the side of the tunnel. I then heard a screech and felt my body woosh off to the side and as if something were carrying me. I look down and see this great bird, that of a great Eagle, carrying me up to the city. There he drops me off on a roof then bows to me and then takes flight.
That eagle is from Lord of The Rings. Christian and I love that movie.

Crucible Reflection
The Crucible made me frustrated a lot. If they would have just used common sense there would have not even been witch hunts. They could have just seen people were lying to save themselves. Also why would they put people in such a difficult position of dying or going to hell because of how strict their religion was? If they could have just thought things through there would have been so many lives saved. It kind reflects today on how ignorant people are and don't think things through but go off of what they think they know and to only save themselves.
Paul Robeson
Paul was a very interesting man and could have succeeded even more in life if the communism issues did not strike. He was multilingual, a great actor who traveled everywhere and broke the color barrier in acting. He was one of the first African Americans to play roles that would be more for white men and he also he had a play that was the longest running in history. Because of his passport being taken away from him he couldn't travel to act and was given a bad name. Just now his accomplishments are being shown because back then he was being discriminated for what happened to him. He is a lost part of important history.

Puritan Plain Style: Fire and Brimstone
How do you call yourselves believers? What you are doing is preposterous. You are going around sinning as if it is nothing and you do nothing to fix it? How can you even look at yourself, you are all just animals and hypocrites. How do you expect God to forgive you for all you have done? You must be insane to think he will let all of this go away for you do nothing to show respect to him! You better find a way to show that you are true believer or you will perish in hell for all of eternity.

They All Played A Part: Squanto
I believe that Squanto played one of the biggest helps to the Pilgrims. Squanto helped them plant and figure out what types of foods were good for them to eat. Squanto also returned all of their supplies that the Indians had stolen from them. I feel as if he didn't do that, then the Pilgrims would be shorthanded on things with tools and could possibly not make things. Also he helped suppress their fear of the Indians by helping make a treaty with them. This treaty was very crucial in letting the Pilgrims be able to expand because they could have feared the Indians and that they would attack back. Squanto helped them find food and return tools and help squander their fears of the Indians being a big beneficiary to the Pilgrims.

Journals of Discovery
| This picture is a true representation of how the Jamestown feared all of the Indians. They blocked them off from entering into their village. They did this because they feared that the Indians would slowly kill them all off and take everything they own. They also needed to feel a possible sense of protection from other forces as in the Spanish. So all in all this is an accurate representation of how Jamestown was and how they had to seclude themselves for protection. |

Native American Culture Blog
A while ago my grandma found a portrait in her basement of one of her relatives and it looked relatively similar to that of a native american. Although, back in the time the picture was taken or drawn everything was in black and white. Because of that it is hard to tell if the women is either very tan from being in the sun or of Native American heritage.
I just wonder if that person really is Native American because, if she was, then I would be as well. It would be interesting also to see what tribe that she was in or related to because I would look more into it and see if I relate to anything in that tribe. It would always be nice to find out more about who I am and see how I could possibly be just like an Indian in that tribe.
